Greggory R. Maddox, M. Div.,        
D. Min., Pastor

      Greggory Roy Maddox was born in Pontiac, Michigan. He is the oldest child of the late Roy and beloved Zeolar Maddox. Pastor Maddox received his secondary education at Pontiac Northern Senior High School in Pontiac, Michigan where he distinguished himself as an outstanding student. He is the recipient of a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Political Science with a minor in Religion and Philosophy from Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia in 1984. While attending college he pledged for the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Pastor Maddox is also the recipient of a Master’s Degree in Divinity from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University in 1987.

      While a seminarian, Pastor Maddox was called to Pastor the Mars Hill Baptist Church in Southampton County, Virginia. In December 1988, Pastor Maddox was called and accepted the Pastorate of the Guildfield Missionary Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia. Both of these ministries flourished under his Pastoral watch and experienced growth numerically, financially, and above all spiritually. In August 1995, Pastor Maddox was called and accepted the Pastorate of the Faith Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland.  Since that time, the Lord has blessed Faith Baptist Church in many areas of ministry.
           
      Pastor Maddox is the 2003 recipient of a Doctor of Ministry degree from the United Baptist College and Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland. His area of concentration dealt with the historical aspect (its roots) of the African-American Family as well as its growth and development.  His written dissertation is entitled “Equipping the African-American Family for the 21st Century through Reflection of its Past, Examination of its Present and Preparation for Its Future. Currently he serves as a chair of the Board of Regents for the United Baptist College and Seminary.”. 

     Pastor Maddox is married to the former Valorie Marie Thomas of Danville, Virginia and is the father of two sons, Brice Greggory, a college  graduate who now resides in Virginia and Joshua Kyle, an upcoming high school student.

        Our First Lady, Sis. Valorie Marie Maddox was raised in Dry Fork, Virginia. Sister Maddox attended Virginia Union University and Danville Community College in Danville, Virginia. She gives loyal support to Pastor Maddox in his Ministry and is the proud and blessed mother of their two sons, Brice and Joshua. Serving as an Additional Adult Support Personnel at Carney Elementary School in the Autism Outreach Department, Sister Maddox also loves teaching our Middle Adult Sunday School classes. Psalm 139 is her favorite scripture and she strives daily to be the child of God that He would have her to be.
